Garden Kertészeti és Erdészeti Szolgáltató Kft. (Garden Horticultural and Forestry Services Provider) was founded in February 1990 and has undertaken to provide gardening services.

Its main areas of activity are: park maintenance, landscaping, grassing, maintenance of rows of trees, individual care of ageing trees.

Our clients are mostly municipalities and large contracting firms, but we are also accessible to smaller enterprises and private individuals.

The management of the firm is made up of experienced professional horticulturists, under whose direction the work is performed by a team of over 100 persons.

Zoltán Lukács, the owner of Garden Kft., submitted a bid under number KM_CSEKK-2006-00322 to a call for proposals for innovation published by the Agency for Research Fund Management and Research Exploitation in 2006 and was awarded HUF 26 million for “Preparations for organizing custodianship of and growing of ligneous ornamental plants of Hungarian breeding” following a favourable evaluation.  

With several partners he drafted in 2008 the tasks of the Custodian of Hungarian Ornamental Plants:
- Collecting and keeping records of ornamental plants of Hungarian breeding
- Maintenance of ornamental plants of Hungarian breeding
- Evaluation of ornamental plants of Hungarian breeding
- Assistance for breeders in protecting their rights
- Raising awareness of ornamental plant species of Hungarian breeding

In the vicinity of Budapest, in Törökbálint, there is a huge rose garden that was created many years ago by Gergely Márk and is cultivated to this day by this 85 year old, with the help of his wife, Icuka, and his sister-in-law, Sarolta Benedek. In the garden of Mr. Márk there are 600 rose varieties, each and every one of which is of Hungarian breeding: their “creator” was Mr. Márk.

The Custodian of Hungarian Ornamental Plants undertook the noble task of not letting the work of many long years go to waste. The roses were enumerated, their characteristics were mapped, photos were taken of them and we are promoting them on our webpage, in order to make them as widely known as possible.
The planting and care of every variety of Mr. Gergely Márk is planned within the shortest period of time at the site of Garden Kertészeti és Erdészeti Szolgáltató Kft. in Pátka, Fehér County, for the purpose of ensuring the survival of his new Hungarian rose varieties. We wish to contribute to the survival of the over 600 new Hungarian Márk rose varieties in this way.

Furthermore, we strive, within our means, to have the protection of as many Hungarian rose varieties registered as possible, thus ensuring the recognition of their being Hungarian.
